Kas (they/them), is an interdisciplinary artist focused on documentary projects, whose work centralises finding place within identities, bodies, communities, and geographical spaces. They place great importance on representation and ethical practice, prioritizing co-creation and finding reciprocal storytelling methods in their projects.

After studying Photography, Film, and the Digital at St. Joost School of Art and Design with a minor in Creative Writing, they graduated in 2023 with the short documentary film Oaia Neagră. The short premiered at Nederlands Film Festival and won the VPRO Documentary Prize, as well as the title for Best Film at Vers Film Festival, and was selected for NPO’s Makers van Morgen. It has since been selected for festivals such as Roze Filmdagen, Rotterdams Open Doek, DocLisboa, and was nominated for best documentary of Shortcutz Amsterdam 2024.

In 2024 they were one of eight selected participants for the year-long NEXT Talent Development Trajectory by Playgrounds, and completed the course Script Writing at the Scenariovakschool in Amsterdam.

Presently they are finalizing a collaborative documentary project with transgender migrants in The Netherlands. This project consists of a documentary short film, a collaboration with Teledoc Campus, CoBo, and HUMAN, and a new media zine on migration, homonationalism, and dis-identification.
